Google and multiple vendors released the A2A protocol, standardising discovery, communication and task collaboration between agents. It does not replace MCP: MCP handles agent-to-tool, A2A handles agent-to-agent.

Key facts

  • Defines discovery and communication between agents
  • Complements rather than replaces MCP
  • Launched jointly by several vendors
  • Supports cross-organisational task collaboration

Big Share take
